Law Enforcement

Background

Clare worked extensively with a municipal police department developing a first-level supervisory program while she was a city employee, in addition to providing coaching to officers preparing for promotion and helping police supervisors build communication skills. She also presented part of the field training officer course and taught report-writing skills for recruit officers.

We ride along

When we work with a new client, Clare will ride along with both an officer and a sergeant to help her better understand the needs of a particular department.

Services for law enforcement
organizations

Clare can help departments prepare for accreditation, reaccreditation, performance appraisals, and promotions with new job descriptions that truly reflect the actual job. She will prepare core job descriptions for each sworn position but she will have additional information ("specialty accomplishments") to reflect the different types of jobs in each level. For example, there will be a generic job description for a sergeant, but the will be specialty accomplishments for a range supervisor, vice and narcotics, recruit school supervisor, and so forth.

Job descriptions are customized to each individual department. She uses a process that drastically reduces the necessary time for job task analysis, saving departments time and money.
